"Open House" Paso Robles

Welcome to Paso Robles, we highly encourage you to visit producers during your stay! For more information about the region and producers please visit our regional associations website www.pasowine.com

THE BELOW TOURS ARE BASED LARGELY ON PROXIMITY TO ONE ANOTHER. HOWEVER, EACH TOUR HAS A COMMON THREAD THEMATICALLY THAT CREATES AN EXPERIENCE THAT IS NOT DUPLICATIVE AND VERY COMPLEMENTARY.

WHICH WINERIES YOU CHOOSE TO VISIT IS COMPLETELY UP TO YOU; HOWEVER, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CALL AHEAD AS MOST PLACES REQUIRE RESERVATIONS.

 Tour 1: The Western Hills

The steep western hills of the Paso Robles wine region accentuate why Paso Robles is so diverse. From warm south facing slopes, to cool valleys, and breezy mountain tops. This area’s different meso-climates offer a diversity of wine varieties that can be easily sampled by visiting these three producers.

Thacher Winery – Small producer of Zinfandel, Rhone, Bordeaux, and blends thereof

 Tour 2: Rurally Urban

The urban wine experience is a popular breeding ground for innovation and creativity. Tin City and its surrounding neighbors of urban wineries and other craft producers showcase micro-chasm of what the Paso Robles wine region is all about. Bold expressions, creative blends, eclectic varietals, and wines of unique character. Its all of Paso in walking distance.

Tour 3: History in a Bottle

The Paso Robles AVA was established in 1983 and since then producers have been creating wines that express a sense of place that reflects Paso’s roots as a wine region. These expressions of Terroir come from historic vineyards and special sites from all around the region. Some of the essence of Paso, be it minerality, freshness, or fruit, can be tasted at these three producers’ wineries.
Eberle Winery – Producing award winning, age worthy, and iconic wines since 1979
Turley Wine Cellars – Stewards of historic vineyards, specializing in old vine Zinfandel
Linne Calodo Winery – Taking its name from the soil type special to Paso, wines express the soils they are grown in

 Tour 4: The Gap

Paso’s unique growing environment has everything to do with its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The main conduit is the Templeton Gap, which allows the cooling influences of the ocean to filter into Paso Robles each afternoon in the summer. It’s our natural air conditioner that turns our warm days into cool nights, the secret climactic ingredient to balanced wines. These three wineries sit on Highway 46 West, which mirrors the path of “The Gap.”
J Dusi Wines – The famed, dry farmed, Dusi Vineyard lies in the Templeton Gap since 1945
Epoch Estate Wines – Carefully crafted wines from Rhone, Zinfandel, and Tempranillo varieties
Niner Wine Estates – Located under the iconic Heart Hill with estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah
